The Billionaire built around a new diamond cut

Jacob & Co. dates the Billionaire to 2016, when it began as a one-off skeleton tourbillon set with very large diamonds. Variations followed. This version, made for the brand’s fortieth anniversary, introduces a new diamond cut.

The Angel cut

The brand describes the cut as proprietary and patented, and names it after Angela Arabov, whom the page describes as Jacob Arabo’s wife of 37 years. The current page defines it as a stepped rectangle with a lozenge-shaped table and cut corners. Monochrome’s launch report adds 37 facets, a number it links to the couple’s 37 years of marriage. The earlier Jacob cut had 288 facets.

In the photographs the case and dial are a surface of small stepped rectangles laid in the brick-wall pattern the page names. The stones on the case flanks are larger than the ones on the dial. The page says the clasp is set the same way. Our frames do not show the clasp.

Across our photographs, the hands read dark in the close dial frame and almost silver in the wider views. The current and launch specifications describe those hands differently, and both records appear in the comparison below.

Two tourbillons under a brick wall

The calibre JCAM50 is a hand-wound skeleton with two barrels. Each drives its own flying one-minute tourbillon. A differential combines their rates and turns the hands.

The brand’s page makes a point of hiding the skeleton. From the dial side, the openworked movement appears only through two round openings at twelve and six, where the cages turn. The sapphire back exposes the rest.

The 297-diamond layout

The same table divides its 297 diamonds like this:

• Case: 98 Angel-cut diamonds, plus one rose-cut diamond listed with the case and identified as the crown in the brand’s Japanese material.
• Dial: 88 Angel-cut and 80 emerald-cut diamonds.
• Clasp: 30 Angel-cut diamonds.

A narrative block on the same page instead gives the dial 80 Angel-cut stones and pairs them with 51.13 carats, the figure its specification table assigns to the case. This article follows the table and leaves the contradiction visible.

White, yellow and black-treated diamonds

The white-diamond watch is the anchor. The yellow execution uses rose gold. The black-treated diamonds sit in black gold. Each page gives the same stone counts and movement. The current brand pages were read on 27 August 2026, while Monochrome’s launch report is dated 25 March 2026. They differ on:

• Edition: six white, one yellow and three black-treated pieces on the current brand pages; 18 pieces in Monochrome’s launch report.
• Diamond weight: 80.06 carats now; around 79 carats at launch.
• Case: 54 by 40 by 11 mm now; 54 by 41 by 13.2 mm at launch.
• Smaller dial stones: the 80 stones are emerald-cut at 1.14 carats in the current specification table; baguette-cut at about 1.14 carats in the launch report; Angel-cut and 51.13 carats in the current page’s own narrative, although the table assigns that last figure to the case.
• Hands: blued in the current specification; rhodium-plated skeleton hands with white Super-LumiNova tips in the launch report.

In the black version the same tiling reads dark in our frames, and the tourbillon cages and the red-tipped hands are the bright points. We photographed the yellow-diamond piece too, but those frames carry a generative-edit flag in their metadata and are held back. The yellow execution is described here from the brand’s page alone.

Price and availability

Production. The consulted sources differ and no explanation was found. The official pages read on 27 August 2026 state the editions execution by execution: white diamond 6 pieces, yellow diamond a pièce unique, black-treated diamond 3 pieces; the pages' specification table gives 297 diamonds and 80.06 ct and a case of 54 × 40 × 11 mm. March 2026 launch coverage (Monochrome, 25 March) reported 18 pieces, around 79 ct and 54 × 41 × 13.2 mm, and named the 80 smaller dial stones baguette-cut where the current table says emerald-cut. The current official white page is also internally inconsistent: its specification table lists 88 Angel-cut and 80 emerald-cut dial stones, while a narrative block on the same page says 80 Angel-cut dial stones of 51.13 ct and omits the emerald-cut. This record follows the specification table and resolves nothing.
