Bugatti Tourbillon Sapphire Crystal puts the V16 on view

The Bugatti Tourbillon’s automaton is cut from a single block of transparent sapphire: sixteen cylinders drilled for sixteen titanium pistons on a single-axis crankshaft. Press the pusher in the crown and the pistons run in sequence for 20 seconds. The Sapphire Crystal edition uses sapphire for the case as well. Its caseback, caseband and bezel are each cut from a separate block, exposing the engine from the front, the sides and the back.

The display around the engine

The calibre JCAM55 replaces a conventional dial with three displays arranged around the engine:

• Hours and minutes: two retrograde displays, with jumping hours. Each hand sweeps a 270-degree arc before returning to zero.
• Tourbillon: a flying cage completing one cycle in 30 seconds, which the page calls the fastest the brand has made.
• Two reserves in one counter: one for the movement and one for the automaton. The latter stores 20 full animation sequences on a single wind.

The movement runs at 3 Hz and contains 557 components. The official page contradicts itself on its power reserve:

• Specification table: 80 hours.
• Descriptive text: 48 hours.

The source gives no basis for choosing one over the other.

Blue inside a clear case

In daylight the case edges recede in the frames. Blue appears on the manifolds, the counter rims and the louvred rubber strap. The red Bugatti oval is the only strong accent in another colour.

The crown combines metal and sapphire with knurling on the inside. The tourbillon sits to the left. The retrograde time display and the dual power-reserve counter share the upper half of the case.

Three edition statements, three scopes

The available sources do not make three claims about the same reference. They speak at different scopes:

• The Clear / Blue reference’s specification table lists six pieces.
• The product-group description, covering Clear / Blue, Clear and Clear / Green, says “unique pieces only”.
• Revolution’s June report describes the first series at model level as two unique pieces, one green and one blue.

Price and availability

Production. The official Clear / Blue page's specification table states a limited edition of 6 pieces, while the same page's own description calls the model "unique pieces only" (both read 27 August 2026). Press coverage of June 2026 described the first series as two unique pieces, one green and one blue. The statements are kept apart and dated.
