  • Founded in 2000 by Gérald Charles Genta under his two first names; he sold the company to the Ziviani family in 2003 and remained designer-in-chief until 2011.
  • The Maestro case shape derives from a 17th-century Roman monument by Francesco Borromini, a square crossed with an octagon, with the "smile" at 6 o'clock.
  • Relaunched in 2019 under CEO Federico Ziviani; the Geneva Atelier at rue du Mont-Blanc 3 opened in spring 2024.
  • The archive holds eleven years of Genta's late original drawings, many still unpublished.
